On Hiatus

Well, folks, it's been a busy spring. And ever since the show got moved from Friday to Thursday, it's been tough to keep up. So we're going on a little hiatus. Shows will be sporadic and occasional from here on out (maybe one show a month), at least until the summer. I'll announce upcoming shows here and post the podcast after the fact. Past shows and songs aren't going anywhere. I'll leave them up for the foreseeable future.

I'll leave you with one of my (many) favorite songs. It's somewhat fitting for the occasion, but above all, it's just a great, great song. Just one of those songs that rises above all its little imperfections to approach perfection. Enjoy and I will see you around.

March 20, 2008 Show

Fun show this week. Had a special guest in the studio: my 9 year old son. We talked about favorite bands and college basketball. And we spun some killer tunes. Have a listen -- the kid's pretty good.

This week's show fell on Valentine's Day. Yes, the bogus holiday exploited by the greeting card companies, among others. So, what the heck, we joined the fray and played nothing but "love songs."

New Show Time

As mentioned earlier, the radio station has changed its programming schedule, as it does every semester. This is college radio, folks. Since I am not a student and only a staff/community member, I get to pick through the scraps of the remaining time slots.

Anyway, new day and time (and length!) for the show: Thursdays from 7-8PM.

Leaner and meaner.

February 1, 2008 Show

Tonight we featured a birthday gift from the Mrs.: the No Thanks! box set put out by Rhino.

We also learned that the programming schedule at the radio station changed for the Spring semester, which means that the show will no longer be broadcast live on Fridays from 6-8PM. Stay tuned for the new day and time. I will post it here as soon as I find out. Thanks for listening.

Launched a new segment for the show today: This Week in Punk Rock History. And of course, the mic cut out while I was in the middle of it. I was able to make a recovery, but so much for the new segment. Also some new Marah, in honor of them canceling their tour, which was supposed to kick off on Friday in Providence.

January 11, 2008 Show

Felt like a really good show. New and old music from Marah, in anticipation of their tour which kicks off in Providence next week. Also a set of songs inspired by and including Jack Kerouac. Have a listen.

(Had some technical difficulties with the podcast. It's in two parts, which is a good thing. But two songs got cut off in the process, not to mention some of my scintillating banter. Not good. I've made those songs available below.)
